Let's suppose you have a large photo collection and you need to resize them all, for publishing on a web site. In this case, you can go about it the slow way or the quick way. The slow way goes something like this: open each pic individually in the image editor of your choice, and resize the pics one at a time. It will take some time to get the job done, but it will get done.

Or you can go about it the fast way, which involves using a specialized application that can batch resize images. Such an application is Quick Image Resizer. It's a software that can easily and quickly resize many pictures simultaneously.

The installation process shouldn't pose problems for any user because it's a straightforward operation. It supports any version of Microsoft Windows and also the mostly used image formats.

The interface has a graphical aspect and it's very easy to use, as the controls and options are self-explanatory. The user can add images to the program in two ways, either by using the classical menu and the open file dialog, or by dragging image files onto the program's interface. Either way, the maximum number of images that can be imported in Quick Image Resizer is unlimited.

After importing the desired images, the user needs to select one of the profiles provided. Every profile can be thoroughly customized and various settings of it can be changed, like the resolution, aspect ratio, compression and image format. By default, all the profiles are configured for JPEG files, but the user can change this to the PNG or BMP format, which have a greater quality then JPEG, but take up more disk space.

Every selected settings scheme has an explanation text displayed under it, which allows the user to quickly see what the profile is about without opening the configuration settings. For advanced users, the program allows them to modify its configuration file directly through an INI file. This feature shouldn't be used by beginners.

Pros

It includes various profiles whose settings can be easily configured. It also allows importing image files using drag and drop.

Cons

The number of image formats is very limited. Quick Image Resizer is the best choice for batch editing image files, allowing the user to quickly and easily change their resolution and quality.
